Dear Mom:
On October 25, 1936 Marilyn Lorraine Kurtzman, you graced the world with your presence. MOM, Marilyn, the one to whom we’ve dedicated our mission to #EndPeriodPoverty.
Were you perfect in life? Well no, don’t haunt me for saying that! BUT you were the perfect example of unconditional love. The perfect example of how to be a strong woman, pull yourself up by your bootstraps and get on with it! The perfect example of how to treat people, be kind, BE A GOOD HUMAN. Thank you for instilling those traits in me. Though I may fall short I work hard to be the person you taught me to be.
Remember when we’d ride the tram to play at the Midway at Circus Circus and you’d walk up and down the aisle trading out the coupons you had for free buffet for the ones for the free midway games? I was so unbelievably embarrassed then, but so incredibly grateful now. It’s those memories that remind me what a bad ass you always were. Even though you never knew…didn’t believe…WE DO…I DO. I see you mom. Even though it may be a little late in coming, I will never stop saying how powerful you were, ARE, always.
Happy birthday, MOM, Marilyn, FRIEND
Love,
Wendi
